5/20/04 .. Message #2092
" Get together as a group and plan a vigil, fund raiser or other peaceful way of keeping Joshua in the news. Make sure to invite the media! There are many other ways to help. Use the guestbook to plan one of these events!" These are all wonderful ideas. I have found Greta to be the most open to addressing these types of cases. I will start contacting media again and asking them to re-visit Joshua's situation. The old cliche is often true, that the squeaky wheel gets the grease

5/20/04 Webmaster@findjoshua.com Message #2091
Ways you can help… The web site has a lot of visitors and the most often visited part of the site is the guestbook. I know that Joshua’s family monitors the guestbook. Showing your support here is a very good thing. The web site is most often visited after something happens in the news or other media sources. Visits spike when newspaper, TV, radio or other information about Joshua’s disappearance is aired. You can help by keeping things alive via other media sources. Download Joshua’s flyer and keep it posted in high profile places. Include articles and information in newsletters. Keep your eyes and ears open for clues. Pass along your ideas to Joshua’s family via info@findjoshua.com. Get together as a group and plan a vigil, fund raiser or other peaceful way of keeping Joshua in the news. Make sure to invite the media! There are many other ways to help. Use the guestbook to plan one of these events!

Matt’s comments are well put and accurate! "Open discussion" that could actually end up helping the person that did the crime (who is probably also monitoring this web site), accusations that can in fact hurt innocent individuals, and other speculation will not bring Joshua home. What will bring him home are good ideas and accurate leads that are given to the proper authorities in a way that will allow them to follow up on those leads without tipping off the criminal. I know that all of the discussion is a direct result of our concern over what happened to Joshua and the fact we want to help bring him home. For that (as a volunteer) I am grateful. I would however like to suggest other ways we can help. My next post will address some things you can do and perhaps a more productive use of the guestbook.

5/20/04 .. Message #2089
Thanks, Matt. I just want people to know it's okay to tell the truth. You can remain anonymous, that's okay. We just need to know what you know...it's been so long now...time to bring Josh home...please help if you can

5/20/04 .. Message #2087
I know some of the innuedo and accusations seem harsh and I'm sure disturbing to Josh's family. The thing is ... if we can't talk openly here to each other ... we will never get to the truth. How do you know there isn't someone who has been reading this board, trying to decide whether it's worth risking to come forward? No one knows who is involved in Josh's disappearance. I know there are some who still believe Josh drowned or is hidden on the campus somewhere. But I think many more believe Josh did not suddenly disappear on his own because he was drunk. Something happened to him. And ultimately the truth could be a real shocker. Fear will block the truth; censorship will defeat honest communication. So I'm asking everyone who reads this board again ... if you have info about what happened ... or suspicions... and you're afraid to contact anyone ... share it here ... I'll listen...we'll listen ... cuz only one thing matters ... the truth

5/19/04 Thankful Message #2086
"I want to thank everyone for THINKING before posting a message. I know everyone wants to find Josh, and everyone is just trying to think of different possibilities.....but think of Josh's family! Some of the family members had a hard time bring themselves to come to the site because of what people were writing. And scared because of all the accusations. All I ask is that you're considerate and thoughtful! ... THANK YOU!! ... My thoughts and prayers are with you always Josh! Come Home!!"

5/19/04 Kevin Message #2085
"True, with the discovery of Erika Dalquist last week, Josh is now the only one among the four college-age people in Minnesota/Wisconsin who vanished in a 10-day period in fall 2002, who is still missing. The two drowning victims, Chris Jenkins and Michael Noll, were found a few months after their disappearance when the ice went out on the rivers and lakes. Mr. Sjodin, Mrs. Walker, or Mr. Heales, if this message comes to your attention and there is anything you can do to help in the search for Josh, please contact the Guimond family at Info@findjoshua.com or ask the Jacob Wetterling Foundation to put you in touch with the family. ... "

I second that prayer. If the others could be found, so can Josh. We just can't give up... keep praying that whoever has information will finally come forward...and provide the answers at long last

5/17/04 Marie Message #2082
"Well Erica is home safe now with her family and I am so happy for them. I feel that soon Josh will be found and brought home to my Aunt Lisa and Brian. They also diserve to have Josh back. So to that very person who knows exactly where Josh is why don't you be a true human and come forth somehow and tell his family where he is. We are always praying, one day we will have our peace. ... Love your cousin, Marie"

5/16/04 .. Message #2079
Some thoughts after reading the article below...first, I wish the Guimonds could afford to hire Bob Heales to investigate Josh's disappearance; second, I wish other people with experience in searching would offer to help find Josh as they did with Dru and Erica; also, this case is positive evidence that a tracking dog CAN locate human remains a year or more after the person has died; and...once again, it goes to show how trying to find a missing person is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Makes me wonder if Josh isn't somewhere on that campus

5/16/04 .. Message #2078
''"Bob Heales, a private investigator involved in the search, said before the news conference that the clothing on the remains was the same as Dalquist was wearing when she was last seen leaving a bar in downtown Brainerd Oct. 30, 2002. ... Erika DalquistHeales said a neighbor found the body off a trail about seven miles east of Brainerd while looking for a bloodhound that had bolted away during the search Saturday evening. ... I felt a change in the wind, she threw her head up like she caught a scent. And she was gone,'' said Denny Adams of Conde, S.D., owner of the bloodhound, who's named Calamity Jane. ... Heales said the bloodhound was found early Sunday lying next to Dalquist's remains, which were still at the scene, a heavily wooded area bisected by logging trails.'' ... "

Oh Aubs...thank you for posting this update...I have so many mixed emotions right now...thankfulness, anger, confusion and grief...I feel the heartache of this young woman's family and friends...mourning a young lady whose life was cut short for no good reason...but at least now they can carry on with their lives with a small measure of resolution. Now for Joshua...Lord let us find him soon...please...have mercy

May 16, 2004, 12:40 PM ... BREAKING NEWS ... Associated Press reports Erika Dalquist found ... "BRAINERD, Minn. - Searchers have found a body they believe is that of Erika Dalquist, a Brainerd woman last seen a year and a half ago. ... Bob Heales, a private investigator, said searchers found a body about 8 p.m. Saturday that they believe is Dalquist. He said the clothing on the body was the same as Dalquist was wearing when she was last seen leaving a bar in downtown Brainerd Oct. 30, 2002. Heales said the body was found about seven miles east of Brainerd, near where a suspect in the case grew up. He said a neighbor found the body off a trail while looking for a bloodhound that had bolted away during the search Saturday evening. He said the bloodhound wasn't found until early Sunday, next to the spot where the body was found. ..." // Josh is now the only one among the four college-age people in the region to disappear October-November 2002 who remains missing.

5/14/04 Mom Message #2075
Josh, Graduation is over now. Your Dad went but I could not bring myself to attend. With Mothers Day and Graduation on the same day it was pretty tough. It would have been so great to see you up there with everyone else. I think about you everyday, miss you, and love you. Mom

5/12/04 .. Message #2074
To Brian and to Lisa -- we're behind you 110% -- you are not alone, Brian, as you enter the courtroom to fight for your right as a parent to look for your son and do whatever is necessary to find answers -- we are with you in spirit and we got your back! If the "authorities" think they are going to suppress your voice as you search for answers ... they better think again!

5/12/04 .. Message #2073
To all current SJU students as well as alumni ... don't let the university or the community forget that one of its brightest stars is lost ... and must be found

5/12/04 .. Message #2072
I think it's possible there are some entities that wish the whole matter of Josh would just fade away into time ... but as long as there is a group of us who vow to keep searching for the truth of what happened to Josh ... his name and his memory will always remain in the public eye

5/12/04 .. Message #2071
Aubs, thanks for sharing with us the fact that Josh is being remembered -- I was getting concerned for a while that people had just pushed him out of their minds. His case cannot be solved if people don't care enough to keep asking questions and searching for the truth. I really appreciate the updates and information.

5/11/04 Aubs Message #2070
Here's an exact quote, transcribed from tonight's WCCO 4 TV News at 10, of Patty Wetterling's response to a reporter's question, after formally announcing her candidacy for Congress this morning: "There have been one too many Drus, one too many Joshes, one too many Erikas, one too many Leannas, one too many children that have been victims of horrible crimes, and there must be something more that we can do." // Josh was also honored in last Sunday's St. John's University Commencement Program: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Joshua Guimond. Joshua enrolled at St. John's in Fall 2000 with the current class of graduating seniors." (p. 28)

5/11/04 .. Message #2069
This is what our country needs -- more people entering politics who actually want to help society, instead of taking whatever they can from the public. Go Patti, you will do a fantastic job!! I notice that Josh's name often goes unmentioned when people talk about these cases ... so I'm glad she thought to say it ... Joshua wherever you are, you are loved and missed by so many. We won't give up until we find out what happened to you, no matter if it takes a lifetime

5/11/04 Aubs Message #2068
Responding to a WCCO reporter's question at North Junior High School in St. Cloud after formally announcing her candidacy for Congress today, Patty Wetterling said, "There have been too many Drus, too many Jacobs, too many Joshes" [quoted freely]. Yes, that's correct. Someone with influence has finally stepped up to the plate, shown some leadership, and embraced Josh along with all the other innocents. God bless you, Patty. Watch WCCO Channel 4 News at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm tonight for more.

5/11/04 .. Message #2067
Nick, thank you for the reminder. I hope a large group of people from the surrounding communities will show up in support of the Guimond family. Things are starting to happen now, let's keep it going by letting the authorities know people want answers, and will persist until answers are found

5/11/04 .. Message #2066
Wonderful post, Aubs! My prayers are with the Guimonds on a daily basis ... that they will see justice for their son, and that all this suffering will not be in vain. I have a feeling that many other unsolved cases will see resolution once this culprit(s) is uncovered. Meanwhile, I hope anyone who is reading this and lives in the local area will step up to the plate and support Brian Guimond. Let this man do what he needs to do as a father to find answers on behalf of his only son. What if you were in his shoes, would you not be forever grateful for all the people who stood by you? "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me." I pray for you, Brian and Lisa, I pray for your son; I pray for each and every person who cares enough to make a difference in this case, including everyone on this board

5/10/04 Nick Message #2065
I wanted to remind everyone that the hearing on SJU's restraining order against Brian Guimond is on Friday at 1:00, in one of the Stearns County buildings. (I'm not sure which one, or which room). I hope there will be some people there to support Brian.

5/10/04 Aubs Message #2064
Good news, <..>: As the clock runs out on this day, the St. Cloud Times piece on Josh remains among the three "Top Web Clicks" today, and tens of thousands more must have read the paper version! <..>, You express the hope that "information might finally be revealed that will steer the sheriff's dept. in the right direction." I’m confident the authorities are already proceeding in the right direction, with alacrity. But we need prayers to go up everywhere that God will continue to guide their hand and that the bad guy keeps fumbling the ball and making mistakes. Some more good news: In an investigation that continues to widen, DNA evidence -- the death knell for sex offenders -- may now be available to solidify the case. Last week, KARE 11 described the mood at the sheriff’s office as "ecstatic." I sense an air of inevitability about this matter. As for us, the most important thing we can do now is to reach out to the Guimond family and to remain steadfast and patient as ever.

5/10/04 .. Message #2063
Appreciate the update, Aubs ... maybe, just maybe ... information might finally be revealed that will steer the sheriff's dept. in the right direction. If Josh was anywhere on that campus, I really believe he would have been found by now. Oh Lord, where is he ...

5/10/04 Aubs Message #2062
'..' -- Like the May 8 St. Cloud Times story with the sheriff’s plea for past victims to come forward and its May 9 opinion column "Guimond May Be Victim of Foul Play," today’s article on Josh is one of the three "Top Web Clicks" for the day. We’re achieving our goal of getting the word out that Josh is still missing. So many people confuse his case with those of Chris Jenkins (U of M) and Michael Noll (UW-Eau Claire) - or even that of Jared Dion (UW-La Crosse) - and assume that had Josh drowned and that his body has already been found. Readers’ comments today include the following from 'Filled with questions from MN': "It just takes one phone call for the truth to begin to unfold." The number to call is (320) 251-4240. The Stearns County Sheriff's Department is making excellent progress in the investigation of another missing person case in the immediate area. It may take literally just one phone call with seemingly insignificant information to connect the dots and crack this case.

5/10/04 .. Message #2061
Thanks, Aubs ... this is just heartbreaking ... my gosh, if there is anyone reading this who has any information, please, be the one who changes the course of this case! Be the one who gives the Guimond family a chance at knowing the truth ... doesn't Joshua deserve this, too?

''"St. John's Graduates Remember Guimond'' by Michelle Tan, St. Cloud Times, May 10. [Extracts] ... Abbot John Klassen reminded [graduates] to remember their classmate Josh Guimond ... [asking] the crowd of about 800 people to observe a moment of silence for Guimond. He also read a message from Guimond's family. ''The family of Josh Guimond would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Class of 2004,'' Klassen read. ''We know how proud Josh would be to be standing here with you. ... Please help us to keep hope alive until we bring Joshua home.'' ... Jared Anderson thinks about Guimond every time he walks on campus. ''It's very sad,'' said Anderson, who graduated with a degree in psychology. It's difficult to leave without knowing what happened to Guimond, he said. ...   "From Message Board at FindDru.com - ''Guimond May Be Victim of Foul Play'' by Colt Blunt, Collegeville (Minn.), St. Cloud Times, May 9, 2004 * Note: Colt Blunt graduated with Dru Sjodin from Pequot Lakes High School in 2000. * Joshua Guimond would have been graduating today had it not been for his disappearance... He was last seen about midnight Nov. 9, 2002. He did not have his glasses or car keys. His car was in the same spot he left it. The clothes he was wearing were not warm enough for the approaching snow. His credit cards were not used and there were no unaccounted for withdrawals. ...   To Lisa, Josh's mom, on Mothers' Day: We can't begin to imagine your grief and sadness on this, what should have been one of the happiest days of your life: The graduation of your loving son and only child Josh on Mothers' Day 2004. May God grant you strength and comfort this day, may God bless Joshua, and may truth and justice prevail. Amen. The search goes on. We will never quit, we will always remember, and most of all we will never let you down. We have no fear and no obstacle is large enough to deter us in our quest.

Anony: Follow this link for a photo of Josh Guimond with his girlfriend of five years, Katie Benson, taken on the occasion of their graduation from Maple Lake High School four years ago: http://www.csbsju.edu/record/index.html / Both should have graduated from college this weekend. Tragically, however, Josh was taken from us 18 months ago – a bright, talented young man full of hope and promise. Follow this link to learn more about Josh’s plans for the future and the impact of his disappearance on Katie and others in his circle of college friends: http://www.csbsju.edu/record/archives/2003-2004/04-29-04/news/a_presence_remains.html / Thanks for caring and welcome to the ranks of concerned friends and citizens who will never give up searching and clamoring for answers.

"Anonymous," thank you also for the infomation you provided. I can't believe all this is happening ... it is wonderful ... people finally having enough conviction to step forward and make a difference. Hats off to every person who called the sheriff's dept. and agreed to share their story and/or pass along a tip. I applaud everyone who is doing their part to help Jacob and Josh ... thank you

5/8/04 .. Message #2055
Aubs and Matt, a big thank you to you both. I am thrilled that all this information is coming in, finally. I guess the public just needed a final plea before realizing that these cases will never be solved if they don't help. I still feel there are people who have important information about Joshua's disappearance ... but for whatever reasons are reluctant to speak up. I really feel these people might be intimidated or fearful. And why is that? ...

5/8/04 Nick Message #2054
To answer the most recent question, Josh is heterosexual. On an unrelated note, it's wonderful to see the tips coming in on the Wetterling case. To echo what others have said, I hope and pray that we will soon see answers in both Jacob's and Josh's cases. KARE 11 deserves kudos for what it has done, as well.

5/8/04 Anony Message #2053
I was recently made aware of this case thru another website so forgive me if I don't know all the details...I first want to say how deeply sorry I am to the family that they are going thru this painful ordeal with no cooperation from the local authorities (or so it appears). But I can't seem to determine thru the messages here what Josh's sexual orientation was...I mean no offense by the inquiry, just wondering if it's relevant to the case.

5/8/04 Anony Message #2052
An irrelevant observation...by why is Josh listed at 6'0", 176# on this website and 5'10", 170# on the Stearns County website? I know, this is of no importance, just wondering.

5/8/04 Anonymous Message #2051
It’s worth noting that, in addition the hundreds of thousands of viewers in Minnesota reached by KARE 11, as of noon today more than 1,000 readers have already accessed the St. Cloud Times story with the sheriff’s plea for victims to come forward with information -- making it the "Top Web Click" for the day. This is in addition to the tens of thousands reading the print version of the newspaper today in its core circulation area of Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright counties, with more reporting to follow on Sunday, when the Times reaches its peak circulation. (Readers’ comments include appeals such as the following from 'Filled with questions from MN': "When you are able, please make the call. Your voice needs to be heard.") With the influx of parents, friends, and relatives this weekend for commencement ceremonies at area colleges and universities, this story is primed for maximum exposure, which can only be good news for victims of abuse crying out for truth and justice.

5/8/04 Aubs Message #2050
Matt and '..' -- KARE 11 continues to report on the new developments in the Wetterling investigation this morning. It’s interesting that some of these new reports of sexual misconduct in and around St. Joseph date back to the 1960s. Those victims must be pushing 50 by now. What a relief it must be for these men to finally name names and get the weight of those dark secrets off their shoulders after all these years and get on with their lives. I would imagine reports, tips, and leads are continuing to stream in as the floodgates open and this story begins to go national as it is picked up by additional media outlets for wider distribution.

5/8/04 Matt Message #2049
Summary of 5/7/04 KARE 11 news report: "Today, hope is renewed ... For the first time in a long time, detectives working the Wetterling case are feverishly working the phones." More than two dozen new tips came into the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department on Friday. The tips "poured in." An investigator said the phone started ringing at 8 o’clock in the morning. He told KARE 11, "A lot of people calling in are giving names on the composite – on who they feel resembles the composite." He added, "A lot of people are giving us information on things that have happened to them in the past. We’re getting information on stuff that people say happened to them (as far back as) the late 1960s." The reporter characterized the mood at the sheriff’s office as "ecstatic." Investigators told KARE 11 that many of the tip callers were sexual assault victims who gave specific names of their perpetrators. (This was KARE’s top story, so I expect tips and leads will continue pouring in today.)

5/7/04 .. Message #2048
Matt, please give us an update when you are able ... it is almost overwhelming to think that after all these years, justice may finally be served

5/7/04 .. Message #2047
Matt, how I pray you are right ... after all these years ... after all this time has gone by...with so much anguish and heartache...could it be that finally answers are coming. Lord, I pray we can finally find out what happened to Joshua, too...the hurt just can't go on forever. Matt, thank you so much

5/7/04 Matt Message #2046
News flash from KARE 11 News: The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is being inundated with tips after last night's special on Jacob Wetterling and Jared, to the extent they had to get extra help to work the phone lines. Watch KARE 11 at 10 tonight for updates. On May 6, KARE reported, "There's a dramatic change of focus in the Jacob Wetterling case. Investigators are very confident they will finally solve it." .. "There are a few, very specific suspects, and those suspects know who they are, they know they are suspects." .. "Authorities may be on the verge of identifying the man who kidnapped Jacob Wetterling." I can't help feeling this is going to bring us closer to answers for Josh. But at the very least, I bet right about now a certain someone's beginning to sweat blood, vomit bile, and reach for the big-size diapers. The game's up, pal.

5/7/04 .. Message #2045
I've run through various scenarios about what happened to Josh dozens of times, as I'm sure many of you have. And I just cannot figure out how he "vanished into thin air," unless someone he knew invited him to go somewhere, and he spontaneously accepted...

5/7/04 Nathan Message #2044
{Is there someone who works on the campus of SJU who is also tied to the communities in which "Jared" and Jacob went missing?} Well that's where most of the employees live, St. Joe and Cold Spring. Also Avon, and then St. Cloud, Waite Park and Sartell. St. Joe where Jacob was kidnaped is the closest of them, but a little far to walk I'd say. Although people sometimes bicycle or rollerblade from St. Joe to campus. Those with no car or want to save gas ride the bus which runs back and forth. But if the guy fled on foot, how come his footprints end right there at the tire track that was found? Plus, they don't say on kare11 what happened to the kidnapers footprint, did he then carry Jacob or did both vanish into thin air like Josh?

5/7/04 .. Message #2043
"Aubs, thank you for the updates. I've always thought the perpetrator in the Wetterling case was local. Could this perpetrator also be responsible for Josh's disappearance? Is there someone who works on the campus of SJU who is also tied to the communities in which ''Jared'' and Jacob went missing? ... Much obliged to Aubs, and all who are sharing information here"

5/6/04 Aaron A Message #2042
From St. Cloud Times story chat feedback, 5/6/04: 'Regular Guy': After all this time I think (Josh) would have surfaced if he was in the water. I am not one to think the monks got him, I just don't believe that. I hope its a case where he just took off and at some time in the future he will let his whereabouts be known. 'Filled with questions': Please help the authorities. Please report all persons who have sexually abused a child to the sheriff's office. A man who abducts and sexually assaults a boy would have previously engaged, or attempted to engage, in sex acts with other children. With silence, the truth will never be known. The authorities need to hear from you if you were sexually abused. The authorities need to hear from you if you are aware of someone who has sexually abused a child. They need a name. 'lclady': This is so sad... Are these types of crimes in the Stearns County area ever solved? There have been so many.
