There are tunnels underneath the campus. I don't know if it's fair to call them "secret" tunnels, as I think lots of college campuses have something similar. To the best of my knowledge, they were not searched. Aubs might have a more complete knowledge of precisely what was and was not searched, though. |

Does anyone know if the authorities were allowed to search any and all buildings witout restrictions? I have heard rumors of the secret tunnels under some of them buildings. Along with the known misdoings of the fellowship leaders/staff it adds a bit of well lets just say eyebrow raising. I would also like to retracst the statement about never bad mouthing law enforcement. Because no matter who you are or what you do, YOU ARE NOT ABOVE CRITICISM. Telling someone they did bad is as equal as telling them they did good. If you dont tell people what they did bad, they wont know what to improve. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink. |

I don't know everything that has or hasn't been done. The thing is, until there is very hard eveidence that points in one direction. You have to look in every direction. This can be very exhausting physically and mentally. One thing I will not do is come down on law enforcement. One cop or one detective is worth there weight in gold. If one is not doing the job they know who they are and they have to live with the guilt. I will yell at the government though for not having enough of them, considering all the taxes we pay. |

You go, Billy Blast!!! This case will be solved by the people who care about Joshua, not the authorities. The authorities on this case do not seem to have any vested interest in finding out what happened. So, the public will have to do it. Let us know the results -- keep an open mind -- look at the research that's already been done (someone has taken the trouble to examine this case in depth and his analysis is top notch). |

As far as the Search goes. I still think its the best thing we can do since we don't have a badge. I just wish there was more info made public. Such as detailed events and dates or timelines. A map of the area would be usefull as well. I would even pay for the domain if anyone wants to help set it up. |

DoubleDash, so far as I know, no monastic property off of the SJU campus was searched. I can't say with certainty that it hasn't been, but I don't recall ever hearing about it. Then again, I don't think St. Ben's was ever even searched, so that's hardly surprising. |

It also seems very unlikely that Josh is still on campus. All of the outdoor areas on campus were searched in the days immediately following Josh's disappearance. Law enforcmeent, the National Guard, and a very large group of people (including family, friends, and people who just wanted to help) systematically searched the entirety of the outdoor parts of campus other than the lakes. We went through many, many acres of woods. The lakes were later cleared by both law enforcement and the Trident Foundation, a prestigious private organization. |

billy blast, I guess I've never heard of the term "washing" being used in that context, but I'm guessing it means deleting information. I can tell you that his computer was searched well after the incident. I never heard of anyone deleting anything. I've heard nothing about any student leaving. I was one of Josh's roommates, and I know that none of us left school. |

Lets just consider maybe JOSH decided to go for a walk. Just maybe he became out of sorts. When your in the woods sounds such as traffic from the highway sound like they are coming from the other direction. Ad fear and a person could walk a long distance being out of sorts. Stop to rest, fall down break a leg? ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I think its still worth the effort. |

Another Christmas is here, and we are still working hard to find Joshua. If you live or lived in the area from which Joshua was abducted -- and you were approached by a white, middle aged/older male -- would you please contact this site? Or, you may safely go to www.behindthepinecurtain.com You may provide information confidentially. We can find out what happened to Joshua, but we need your help. Your information might make the difference in putting the pieces together about Josh's disappearance. The person who took Josh planned his abduction in meticulous detail. You can help bring an end to this five year nightmare his family and friends have been living in. Please find the courage to do the right thing. God bless you, and Christmas blessings to the Guimond family ... and to Joshua, wherever you are...we will find out what happened. |

My first response did not post so I am going to try again. Mr. Guimond, many of us have long wondered why people charged with handling this investigation immediately turned their attention away from what is right in front of them. The grounds and lakes were searched, Josh's friends were interviewed, his computer was examined, his credit cards have been checked, but here is a crucial question I have: Were the staff members on any kind of "restricted" status at this school (a) thoroughly interviewed and (b) had their alibis for the evening Josh went missing corroborated? A young resident on a college campus turns up missing. There are known sex offenders on the campus. These are two irrefutable facts. Was a potential link between these two incontrovertible facts thoroughly and completely examined? Or, were the efforts employed to search for Josh supposed to pass as a complete investigation? It was anything but complete; it was far from complete. If the missing young man had been the sheriff's son, or the governor's son -- how much more exhaustive would this search have been? I can tell you -- a hell of a lot more exhaustive than what was done for Josh. It is a travesty of justice and a complete failure of law enforcement to not have given Joshua the benefit of every investigative technique available to find him. And to the person who did this, you can own up to your crime here on earth, or you can wait until the Lord holds you accountable for it. Either way, we won't stop until we find the truth. And to all the people who looked the other way, instead of having the courage to do the right thing, what goes around, comes around. Remember that. |

Here is something that needs to be looked into. Since the county attornys husband is employed by St. Johns, the sheriff is alumni, and his kid goes or went there, how can it be there is not a conflict of interest? That might explaine the way things were not done the way they should have been. Let me know what you think, and how to get someone else to investigate that has no ties to St. Johns. |

Very intriguing, well written article. Kudos to the author!! I am sure this analysis has the public really thinking -- what are the odds a young man just vanishes off a college campus, with no trace after five years? Sounds like the work of an abductor who planned out in precise detail what he was going to do. People like that are so smug they believe they actually got away with something -- so it always comes as a great shock to them when they wind up getting caught. |

Well, this weekend marks five years since Joshua disappeared. Does anyone have any insights to add or offer about what happened to him? He did not vanish of his own free will ...the Trident group said he is not in the lakes that were searched on campus...in the short walk to his dorm, what could have occurred? Could someone have called to him, possibly asked him to help them with something or visa versa...in other words, lured him, either into a car or to go with them somewhere? What do you think? |

Thank you for the information Josh's Mom. I am so sorry you and your family are still going through this five years later. It is a tragedy and a travesty. Still, there is so much about Joshua to celebrate -- all his accomplishments, as well as his special personal attributes. I guess November 10 would be the accurate date for when he went missing. Joshua is not forgotten and justice will be served. |

Good suggestion, Aubs. I have written Greta V. from "On the Record" and asked her to at least mention Joshua during one of her programs airing near November 9. At the very least we need to keep some kind of attention focused on the case...to make sure people know we have definitely not forgotten about what happened to Joshua. Someone thinks they got away with something -- don't you know if you don't pay now, you'll pay later? It doesn't end just because you got away with it here on earth |

Alternatively, the Guimond family could post an existing address or P.O. Box number for anonymous tips by mail. On a related matter, is anything being planned for the fifth anniversary, Nov. 9 or 10? Five years is an unfortunate landmark of sorts that could prompt renewed media attention, which might, in turn, prompt members of the public to come forward with new information. |

As the five year anniversary of Josh's disappearance fast approaches, I wanted to remind everyone to contact local media to request media coverage about Joshua. The more newspapers and online news outlets involved, the better. There may be people out there who have information who might now have the courage to step forward and help. This case is going to be solved by pressure being applied by the public and the family. I still believe someone in the local community may have key information that will move the investigation forward. If you do not want to talk to the sheriff, you can write to the Guimond family directly. Five years -- isn't that long enough? |

Links to sketches: ...... ...... This individual was described as a white male about 50 years of age (currently in his late 60s) with receding gray hair, close to 6' in height. Keep in mind that, unlike photographs, sketches based on eyewitness accounts are not exact likenesses; yet they typically capture enough of the basic characteristics of a suspect’s face to trigger recognition from someone who knows or knew the person. |
