4/18/07 DoubleDash Message #3000
Mr.Guimond, I will help you in any way I can. Maybe we can form our own coalition to renew interest in Josh's case and get the attention of the media, public, etc.

4/17/07 Aubs Message #2999
DoubleDash: The Vidocq Society has already examined the Reker case. I believe a viable suspect has been identified; however, the case was badly botched from the start. The crime scene was not properly secured and evidence was compromised. Thus, the case will probably never go to trial. Regarding your 11:27:09 AM post, I believe the best course of action would be for Josh’s family to work with an ''honest broker'' to advise them and formulate a strategy. One option would be to solicit the support of the Jacob Wetterling Foundation, which is conveniently located in terms of accessibility. To get things moving will require a major outreach initiative, coalition building, and expert coordination.

4/17/07 DoubleDash Message #2998
"Maybe the ''Vidoq'' society would re-examine this case as well while they're at it --Mary Reker Susan Reker ... Sisters, Mary (15) and Susan (12) Reker, left their St. Cloud home at 11:30 a.m. on September 2, 1974 (Labor Day) to walk to a local store. They were last seen at the store at 1:30 p.m. and never returned home. Their bodies were found 26 days later in a quarry three miles outside of St. Cloud. Susan was found on top of the quarry stabbed 13 times. Mary was found unclothed 40 feet below the surface of the water, and had been stabbed six times. The quarry was a place known for kids to play or swim. Police have reason to believe the killer or killers may be from the local area. ... "

"I know this group has been mentioned before. I would love to have their input on Josh's case. But, the sheriff would need to contact them. I would like to think that, at this point, he would be willing to do so. ... An unusual, exclusive crime-solving organization meets monthly on the top floor of the historic Public Ledger Building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In a famed walnut-paneled meeting room, members of The Vidocq Society honor Eugène François Vidocq, the brilliant 18th century French detective who served the Sûreté, by applying their collective forensic skills and experience to ''cold case'' homicides and unsolved deaths. At Vidocq meetings Vidocq Society Members (V.S.M.'s) evaluate, investigate, refocus, revivify and solve the unsolved deaths officially brought to them. ... ... ... V.S.M.'s are forensic professionals and motivated private citizens who, as a public service, donate deductive, scientific and other talents for the common good. A long-unsolved homicide or death is the focus of a Vidocq Society meeting during which the case and its evidence are dissected for members and invited guests, all with an eye towards rekindling or refocusing the investigation. ... When cases meet Vidocq's stringent criteria and the investigating agency seeks our participation, V.S.M.'s serve in the background at the pleasure and direction of law enforcement. ... In our role as crime solution catalysts we are equally as satisfied when our participation in a re-investigation moves a case forward incrementally as we are when law enforcement wins the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime. ... The Vidocq Society is a Nonprofit, 501c(3) corporation, which, by the terms of its charter, is a fraternal organization comprised of professionals and non-professionals who meet in a social setting to discuss unsolved crimes. Our work is pro bono and we do not consider every case presented to us. Our sole purpose is to act as a catalyst and provide guidance to law enforcement agencies to assist them in solving these crimes. Opinions offered by our members are personal opinions offered in the spirit of cooperation and goodwill, based only upon the facts presented, and should not be considered formal or legally binding opinions of the Vidocq Society. ... 4/17/07 DoubleDash Message #2996
Aubs, out of the things those other families have been doing, what, in your opinion, would be the most helpful in terms of getting authorities re-focused on Josh's disappearance and enlisting the help of other experts to unravel his case? What's happened here is unacceptable, how can the community from which Josh came not be up in arms about this?? How can people just move on and not understand that nothing's going to happen if they don't step forward to help? I totally understand the fear and embarrasment factor. But I have to say, I think Josh would have gone the distance for anyone in order to seek justice. I just don't understand why more people are not demanding answers.

4/17/07 Aubs Message #2995
DoubleDash: Witnesses are nearly always afraid to step forward for fear of retribution, or even to avoid embarrassment. To move this case forward, it's incumbent upon Josh's family to take the lead in a constructive fashion, following the example of the parents of Jacob Wetterling, Chris Jenkins, and Dru Sjodin.

4/17/07 DoubleDash Message #2994
BMW, in your opinion, do you feel there are witnesses who are afraid to step forward for fear of retribution?

4/17/07 DoubleDash Message #2993
In order to mobilize public opinion, we need to bring more publicity to his case, emphasizing the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. I know the sheriff's dept. keeps saying there's no evidence of any wrongdoing -- but -- logic would tell you there are other legitimate potential paths to follow aside from the "lake theory." I wonder if there is a group/organization who could help us with galvanizing the public to demand action on this case. Any ideas/suggestions?

4/16/07 DoubleDash Message #2992
It sounds like someone thinks they're going to get away with something, BMW...and they might, except I still think others have had run ins with this person -- and those are the people we're waiting to step forward. What do you think prevents them from doing so? Fear?

4/16/07 BMW Message #2991
DoubleDash: Not unless there's a concerted effort to mobilize public opinion and put pressure on the sheriff's department.

4/16/07 DoubleDash Message #2990
BMW, do you still feel optimistic the culprit will be caught soon?

4/16/07 DoubleDash Message #2989
"here" meaning on this message board -- BMW, Aubs and myself -- yourself -- I don't know about anyone else. The four of us never believed the sheriff's theories. I will never understand how the sheriff's dept. could be so unwilling to consider what may have really happened. It probably would have taken them out of their comfort zone I guess.

4/16/07 josh dad Message #2988
  Where is here?

4/15/07 DoubleDash Message #2987
I know Joshua was abducted. Others here know it too.

4/14/07 josh dad Message #2986
The route continues, but nobody has anything to say? What do you believe,Josh is in the water at St. Johns,or Josh was abducted? Of all the parties involved I am the only one who has no reason to lie about anything, also I am sure nobody has more time in finding out the truth than I.

4/2/07 josh dad Message #2983
Jess, you could put some posters at Overlake Medical Center, the best would be to get them where the staff there could see them.Let me know when this happens, thanks.

4/1/07 Jess Message #2982
Hi guys. My brother went to SJU so that is how I became familiar with Josh's case. I live in Portland Oregon and actually travel up to the Seattle/Bellvue area about once a month. I would love to post Josh's flyers up there to help. Would it be best to do it at and around the medical center you have mentioned or are there other places? Let me know what you think I should do and I will do it next time I'm up there.

3/31/07 josh dad Message #2981
Yes the BCA has been doing the same as the rest, little to nothing.

3/30/07 DoubleDash Message #2980
I was wondering, is the Minnesota Bureau of Investigation going to look into Joshua's case?

3/25/07 DoubleDash Message #2979
From what I can see, Mr. Guimond, you have done the lion's share of detective work on this case. Stearns doesn't want to touch it, it seems. I wonder why that is. It looks to me like the university has very strong ties within the community. I listened to the interview on "A Closer Look" and it was very troubling. Some of us seemed to know right away what probably happened to Josh -- and yet --the sheriff could not discern that? The best time for evidence collection would have been as soon as it was discovered Josh was missing. *All* of the campus buildings should have been checked immediately, and every person associated with Josh should have been questioned right away. Valuable time was lost. We all knew he was not in any of those rivers. But at least that was officially ruled out, and the Trident team told the sheriff's dept. to pursue another path in searching for Josh. I think the reason people may be afraid about stepping forward is because they fear retaliation of some sort. What they don't understand is that we're all watching, observing, researching, listening, paying attention. From what I have read and know about Joshua, he would go to any distance to find out what happened to a missing friend or loved one. Every one of his friends should be willing to do this for him too

3/25/07 josh dad Message #2978
Of course the set up man is on campus yet, the one in charge of Joshs dorm at the time he was abducted,is the same man asked a yes or no question about when he was last at a certain location and lied, but explained away as a misunderstanding, by the detective on the case. So knowing this, you can put two and two together I would hope. Last time I heard any thing from Stearns County Sherrifs department was over six months ago, and it is always the same story, we have done nothing because no tips are coming in.

3/24/07 DoubleDash Message #2977
Actually BMW, I know you are right, and we are still and have always been on the same page. I know the abducter is right there, and there are people who suspect him but for whatever reason are unwilling to step forward --but someday they will

"DoubleDash: Fr. Gerald Robinson was based in Toledo, Ohio ... [http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murders/classics/killer_clergy2/index.html]. In regard to Josh, that’s casting the net far too wide. Look for your offender within a few miles of where Josh was last seen. It will be someone who lives or works in the immediate vicinity."

3/22/07 DoubleDash Message #2975
BMW -- I was studying the Gerald Robinson case -- would that be a total rule out in your opinion?

3/20/07 DoubleDash Message #2973
I'm not aware of anyone "sinking" in the mud there, either -- not in the entire history of the school; and yet, that is the theory the sheriff's department continues to maintain

3/20/07 Aubs Message #2972
"Here's a link to a campus map: ... http://www.csbsju.edu/about/directions/sjumap.htm ... Josh would have walked from Metten Court (36) back to his apartment in St. Maur House (41) passing between the buildings of Seton Apartments (35), crossing the intersection to the left (east) of Stumpf Lake, crossing County Road 159 on the right-hand (west) side of the intersection, crossing the parking lot southwest of the intersection, and walking around the west (right-hand) side of the tennis courts to reach his apartment. ... The intersection has a four-way stop. Traffic moves slowly in the area. There was very little traffic the night Josh disappeared, so an accident is highly unlikely. I'm not aware of any history of pedestrian accidents in the area."

3/19/07 Ladymemac Message #2971
I don't know the layout of St. John's campus, but is there any way Josh could have been the victim of a hit and run accident at the intersection he had to cross to get back to St. Maur House? In Ohio there was a missing girl case that later turned out to be a hit and run where the driver panicked and hid her body.

I believe young males may have been approached and/or seen lurking the area in which Jacob was abducted and Joshua disappeared. I feel sure there were/are others who have had unsettling encounters with the abductor. I doubt this person has gone away. I think he's right there, hiding in plain sight. C'mon, someone step up to the plate and help. It's been a long time.

3/16/07 Energizer69 Message #2965
"Please allow me to first extend my heart-filled sorrows to the Guimond family who apparently is still dealing with the disappearance of a fellow classmate to me. ... I am originally from The Bahamas, studied at College of St. Benedict's and St. John's University, of which I had the opportunity to study and converse with Josh. I wouldn;t say that we were best friends, but to know Josh is to be very fond of him. He is a very intelligent, brilliant I may add person, with such a bright future. ... It was many days we would be in Poli Sci and questions would be thrown out to the class by our former Professor Kronebush, many didn't have a clue as to what the answer could possibly be; but Josh hand would always fly to the air. ... The day the news of his disappearance was talked about on campus, that was a day I could never forget. Here I am now some five years later, back home and can not seem to get him out of my head. From time to time I would search the internet to see whether or not he was found, but all it does is leave a bitter taste to my stomach of how a man of such potential and promising prosperity could just dissappear. It vexed me to know that we the students that were out there night and day looking, just could not help. It hurt because I know if it was anyone else around the campus, a forum, newspaper, man FBI and CIA would have been there to help if it was up to Josh. ... THe only thing that always played in my head was; there has to be someone that knows something. There just has to be. ... When I say that I speak from experience. I would be walking from the library late in the night, or from my friends dorm at 2, 3 in the morning and always saw other people out on an all girls campus. In saying this, St. Ben's and St. John's are campuses where people do not sleep. There is always someone up and about. Things just don't add up. ... I just can not come to grip with the fact that someone I knew would have been the next Senator if not President, but most importantly, someone who was so smart, but yet down to earth could be out there and those very people who classify themselves as friends of Josh, knowing what took place that night, is turning a deaf ear and blind eye to it all. ... It hurts me, so I know it hurts the Guimond's, but PLEASE keep the faith. I am hundred and thousands of miles away, but I have, and always will. ... May the Peace and Love of GOD keep you hope alive! ... "

3/15/07 Aubs Message #2964
"Suspect Sketch: Here's a police sketch Fox 9 used in a February 2004 feature about a college student working at the Tom Thumb convenience store in St. Joseph, who rented a videotape to Jacob Wetterling minutes before his abduction on October 22, 1989. This man reportedly came to the store two weeks to the day after the abduction and talked obsessively about Jacob, saying, ''They’ll never find that boy.'' ... The clerk thought this individual, described as a white male about 50 years of age (currently in his late 60s) with receding gray hair, was behaving suspiciously. She reported him to the FBI and apparently the sketch was produced based on her eyewitness account. It’s important to keep in mind that, unlike photographs, sketches based on eyewitness accounts are not exact likenesses. But they typically capture enough of the basic characteristics of a suspect’s face to trigger a response from someone who knows or knew the offender and thinks it might be the same person. ... ... http://myexperiments.homestead.com/files/videostill.jpg"

3/15/07 DoubleDash Message #2963

3/5/07 DoubleDash Message #2957
I fathom what you're saying, Mr. Guimond --and you're right, most people wouldn't begin to be able to grasp what you're referring to, much less believe it...because it's so disturbing and frightening, it's hard to believe this stuff is real. Police seem to go on what they can see, and if they can't see anything, they surrender. I also don't believe they are trained for cracking these kind of cases. The chances of you solving it are much greater than the police...I am always looking for Joshua, everywhere I go. I keep thinking about where he was last seen ... the key to it all

lets not forget one, important fact here, all the authorites involved in the case admit they have no evidence of anything. Meanwhile my investigating has all indications,as I said from day one,Josh was abducted. Why do you think I was banned, when I was banned? Because I figured out what question to ask about who at St. Johns.Furthermore there are people in the area that know what went on.This is big and most people could not even grasp the reality of it all.You do not do all the traveling they do without connections. So again if anybody knows people in the areas that have been put on here have them put up poster pictures, also Iknow they use disguises, but the area in a triangle around the eyes and nose is very hard to cover up,along with the voice. Lets see if a combined effort from the public can end this, after all the public solves alot of crimes.
