Joshua, we're still asking questions to find out what happened to you; we'll keep knocking on doors and making calls til we finally get the truth; you might be entertained to know the secrets and the lies; you'd be surprised to see the way truth has been disguised; "Shhh, don't say this and don't say that, our secrets we must keep;" friends and foes seal their lips while innocent people weep; I think you'd be disappointed at the souls you thought were true; believe me, dearest Joshua, I'm glad you never knew; the lies and games and song and dance, they're so adept at this; they turn their backs without a glance and blow a farewell kiss; "This is all yesteryear," the icy hearts convey; "we have moved on from memories that live in yesterday;" whisper, whisper, let's pretend none of this is real; call the family, act like you care, "let's make them a deal," It's all so old, the feigned concern, the pretentious arrogance; the egotistical attitudes and the utter callousness; they hope and hope we'll get worn down, and finally say, "we're done;" but Joshua, I'm sure you know, we've only just begun.
