DoubleDash: There are generally three geographic locations associated with the best executed crimes of this type: (1) The abduction site, in close proximity to the place where the offender lives and/or works. (2) A primary, more distant site where the offender interacts with the victim over a period of several hours without fear of being disturbed. This is usually in an isolated location where the offender feels comfortable. In the case of the Katie Poirier abduction, for example, it was Donald Blom's cabin near Moose Lake. (3) A secondary location in relatively close proximity to the primary location, where the offender attempts to dispose of physical evidence. In the Poirier case it was the fire pit on the Blom property.
