Mr. Guimond: As you may know, I am very concerned about Joshua’s disappearance and the apparent lack of vigor and enthusiasm by various authorities to fully investigate his disappearance. I have no direct evidence that Josh is deceased; however, regrettably there also does not appear to be any evidence that he is alive. I sincerely wish the latter had not been the case. You ask if I have ever considered the possibility that Josh might have been abducted. Yes, that is the conclusion I have reached after investigating all other possibilities. The sheriff’s public explanations do not hold any water – or mud, for that matter. I do not deny the existence of cult activity in Stearns County or the State of Minnesota; however, I have no incontrovertible evidence that a cult was involved in Josh’s disappearance. (I am aware of some of the evidence the Guimond family has collected; however, I do not believe it excludes alternative explanations.) Regarding the BCA and the FBI in particular, if they do not get more fully involved, who will? No one else has the police power or the investigative resources to do what will be required to resolve this matter. I believe the FBI’s initial involvement was primarily to investigate possible links with the disappearances of Chris Jenkins, Michael Noll, and Erika Dalquist. When that did not pan out, they receded into the background and I don’t believe they have ever been fully engaged in the investigation since.
