I would like to clarify some things in response to some people bringing up the internet waher site. The cops had Josh's hard drive for about a month after he went missing. When we got it back, we wanted to have the geek squad go through it, but they couldn't without Josh's approval (since he was legally just missing). We got it back in January and started to go through everything. While doing so, we discovered that someone named Alex accessed Josh's computer from 11:48PM Tuesday, 11/12, until just before 1AM Wednesday, 11/13. Obviously this was well after Josh went missing. Alex had been to an internet washer site. When we informed the lead investigator of this, he had no idea. Their forensic experts had obviously done nothing when they had the hard drive. The investigator called me several weeks later to ask where on the computer we had found the info. I asked him whether he had talked to Alex. He said Alex had graduated in December and moved to his family's home in Shakopee. He said he might have the Shakopee police talk to him, or he mightdo it himself; he wasn't sure how he wanted to proceed. Next I heard, they said Alex had moved to Europe. I've never heard anything more, but I do know they never talked to him. Go figure. A guy goes missing, someone is on his computer in a suspicious way and the cops never even talk to him. A true measure of how the whole case was handled.
