To Joshs uncle: Do you have any idea what relation Alex was to Josh? Do you have a full name for him? How do you know that a person with this name was using his computer? It seems haphazard that someone would go through the trouble of washing a computer and yet still leave a record of their work. Has anyone ever attempted to recover the data from the computer? Many "washing" techniques are simply surface wipes and do not comply with Department of Defense data security standards. There is still a chance that at least a portion of the data is recoverable.
