Does anyone know of any Minnesota drowning victims that were not recovered? These two Leech Lake fatalities were recovered in less than 2 days, in the state’s third-largest, fifth-deepest lake: "The body of William Ptacek, 46, of Oakes, N.D., was found in Leech Lake Sunday. Ptacek was on a sailboat in the lake on Saturday when he apparently fell overboard..." (AP, 7/6/04) "A search was conducted until dark Saturday and continued Sunday with divers, side scan sonar and officers from Cass County and the Minnesota DNR." (AP, 6/5/04) "A 19-year-old Wisconsin man died of an apparent drowning last weekend on Leech Lake, Cass County authorities reported. The body of Jeremy G. Goss, 19, Mondovi, Wis., was found Sunday after a search began for the man and his boat on Leech Lake Saturday morning... Goss had been reported missing Saturday morning. His boat was located, partly swamped, near Submarine Island Saturday afternoon. His body was recovered Sunday." (Brainerd Dispatch, 9/17/02)
