The answer seems to be a qualified No. As reported in the Star Tribune (May 5, 2002, http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/2719831.html): "Under the program at St. John's, any allegation is investigated by the abbot. If it involves a minor or legally vulnerable adult such as a nursing-home resident, law-enforcement authorities are notified." However, according to a source, there are indications that one or more individuals may have been sent to a treatment center since Josh’s disappearance, allegedly without notification of law enforcement authorities, as specified in the policies and agreed to in previous settlements. This may be what Tom was trying to alert us to in his post of 4/9/2004, 7:16:21 PM on this message board. I understand local and national media are investigating.
